This Week at The Acres: On the Fringe of May Flowers April 30. 2016

This Week at The Acres: Dilemma. Grass needs mowing. Rainy. Solution: Get wet mowing. And it even turned into a Feeding the Swallows time! Well worth it.
I am in anticipation mode. It's a little early but everything is early this spring. I am on the hunt for iris buds every walk. The dwarfs iris have bloomed already--most of them And a bud or so have appeared. Not I have to wait to see if this will be an iris spring. Other things are blooming--a daffodil or so; one bouquet has just started to bud (strange), tulips still coming, hardy geranium, azalea,
all kinds of bells--pink, white, blue. Crab apples are magnificent. Still waiting on the bleeding hearts which have usually bloomed by now. Freeze set them back, I guess. Anyway, here's this weeks beauties.

This Week at Iten's Acres: Spring Begins in Earnest March 23, 2016

This week at The Acres: A few last daffodils, more tulips, the first iris--two dwarfs--the marsh marigold. crab apples are starting--The Acres are coming into spring.

This Week at Iten's Acres: Survivors April 17, 2016

This week at The Acres: The two days of hard freeze and two days of frost are in the past. (Not that we don't have a whole month yet to have some more.) Two days of warm have revitalized a few things. Snow birds are still here. The heron has given the goldfish the yips. Whenever any bird flies over, they "flip" and dive or head for deep water. I suppose if something with wings was trying to eat me, I might "yip" a little. Anyway, a few pictures for you of what has endured April's snow and cold.
