Today at Iten's Acres: A Summer's Day July 20. 2016

Typical summer day at The Acres:

Alarm clock goes off around six.
Then, feed the alarm clock. Feed The Posse. Feed the feathered friends. (This at times requires a little trek to the thistle feeder by the pond and the hummingbird feeder near the front of The Acres. How they eat all that thistle so quickly is amazing. And though I have not seen one hummer or anything else on that feeder, it just keeps going empty. Ghost hummer?)
Study--just started the Gospels.
Check the internet. See how the Cardinals managed to lose this time. Put something on facebook usually.
"Work" in the cool of the morning. Moving stones. Mulching. Trimming the brambles that are encroaching on the paths in the Wild Area. They are on a relentless, insidious mission to conquer the world--and winning.)
Walk--a couple times at least.
Spend time on the Green Throne enjoying the silence.
Read in the heat of the day.--essays by Robinson the current book.
Early evening--more work. Moved some iris, more mulching, watering.
Supper for The Posse.
Spend the evening reading, writing, cleaning (yes, I do that once in awhile--the day's dishes, vacuuming. laundry. Once in awhile.)
Tonight's entertainment--three kittens chasing lightning bugs

Such is a day at The Acres. It's challenging being a full time recluse, but I manage.
