A winter's day at The Acres. The snow really didn't start in earnest until late morning, but it has been steady ever since. I got my feathered friends catered before it all began to accumulate. Later, I swept away some snow and fed them a little more. They were busy. There's still isn't anything more beautiful than a cardinal sitting on a branch in a snowstorm. And this time of year they come in flocks. I walked some, of course. It was a lovely day. Not a whole lot of accumulation really. Maybe four or five inches.
I was tempted to trek into town to see if the boys' basketball game was still on, but the roads suggested that I not try to get all the way there. My driveway and County Road 25 were an adventure--I expected that. But 61 was an adventure as well, so back home I came. Now, for a quiet evening watching it snow, reading a good book, and spoiling The Boss. When I get tired of reading, I'll just flip off all the lights and enjoy the snowfall. Going to be a delightful evening for a hermit. I'd invite you to join me, of course, but the roads--bad; so you had better stay home, and I'll just try my best to enjoy the solitude. Tough, I know, but I think maybe I can do it. Enjoy your snow evening--I promise I will.
