Today at Iten's Acres: A Tirade October 12, 2012

Why do people think it is okay to just dump animals out in the country? In the last couple of weeks, at least half a dozen cats have been dumped out here. I have no idea what's happened to most of them. One of them, a little white kitten with one green eye and one blue one, has decided to move into the shed behind my house. She (or he) is too skittish to accept attention, but she has eaten the food I've put out once I walk away. I doubt she has much of a chance of surviving for long. The people who dump their animals should be flown out into the middle of the Alaskan wilderness--say mid-summer when the tundra is swampish, the mosquitoes as big as hummingbirds and voracious, and the grizzly bears on the prowl--and told "good luck, hope you survive." It's indefensible cruelty.
