Another Fallish Day at The Acres--November 10. 2018

And I thought last Saturday was a brisk workday at The Acres. This morning started with another snowfall, and though it melted off the car, it still is hanging around in spots throughout The Acres. I didn't really work today--took a couple nice walks, filled up the feathered friends restaurant, replanted a daffodil some creature had dug up--nothing that closely resembled work. The feathered friends were active as you can imagine. The chickadees, nuthatches, and titmice are fearless. They land practically on my feet and head. My presence is irrelevant to lunch time--no interruptions, please. The other birds are a bit more skittish. The cardinals and blue jays don't go far, but they fly away. So, too, with the flock of robins whose main interest seems to be the crab apples. Saw snowbirds for the first time; they fly off as well. But they are all beauties--more than welcome at The Acres bird-feeding station. I do hope Thanksgiving vacation is a tad more fallish temperature wise. I'd still like to re-do a couple beds, and there's plenty of mulching and chainsawing to do yet. Nevertheless, it was another fine day to live in the country. I don't mind being given the cold shoulder.
